Gui, the person behind Calmness,dropped out of highschool to pursue their passion for music. Learned to play guitar, synthesizer, to produce, mix, and record music alone in their bedroom in Mafra, Portugal. Their first release was in 2017, an album called "Lavender" that got them to #1 on iTunes Portugal on release day. That was followed by their next LP "Don't ask if i'm okay" in 2021, being considered the #1 Portuguese album of the year by music blog Mindies.

Calmness has toured around Portugal and Italy, played for Sofar Sounds and Fnac, opened for big names like Turnover on February 2020 in Lisbon and more recently for Novo Amor in April 2022. Being compared to the likes of Clairo by Clash Magazine, Calmness is slowly building a name for themselves all over the world.
